South Georgia Business + Culture Magazine Returns Under New Ownership
VALDOSTA, GA— South Georgia Business + Culture Magazine, founded in 2016 by publisher and editor Thressea H. Boyd, is entering a new chapter as the publication transitions to new ownership following several years of regional growth and brand expansion.
Matt Seale, owner of South Georgia Omnimedia, will relaunch South Georgia Business + Culture Magazine as the newly created South Georgia Magazine, with an expanded regional focus and a broader multimedia platform. The reimagined publication will extend coverage to include 50 counties across South Georgia, while building on the brand’s strong foundation through an enhanced digital presence, a revitalized podcast, and additional content channels designed to reach audiences in new and meaningful ways.
“The publication has established a strong voice in the region,” Seale said. “We’re excited to build on that momentum by expanding its reach, deepening its storytelling, and creating a platform that reflects the full scope of business, community, and culture across even more of South Georgia.”
The magazine started as the region’s exclusive business-focused publication, covering a wide range of topics, including agriculture, economic development, entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, rural prosperity, tourism, and the arts. Building on that momentum, Boyd expanded the brand to include the South Georgia Insider podcast and an e-newsletter, creating additional platforms to engage audiences and share stories across the region.
“When I started South Georgia Business Magazine, there was a clear void in coverage for business and industry across our region,” she said. “It was an idea that grew into an incredible journey, one that allowed me to tell hundreds of stories, conduct meaningful podcast interviews, and travel across South Georgia, meeting inspiring people along the way. I discovered communities, businesses, and places I didn’t know existed, and that was one of the most rewarding parts of this experience.”
In 2023, Boyd, owner of THBoyd Communications, paused publication of the magazine to focus on growing demand for client-based services in public relations, marketing, and media relations.
Boyd said the transition reflects both the magazine’s success and the evolving needs of her business and clients. “The magazine and podcast were created to tell meaningful stories about our region, and that mission continues through my client-based work. I’m grateful for the opportunity to spotlight the people, communities, and businesses that make South Georgia so special.”
She voiced her support for Matt and his team to continue showcasing South Georgia as an exceptional place to build careers, raise families, and enjoy life.
“There are great things happening across our communities, and it’s important that we continue to tell that story,” Boyd said. “I’m excited to see Matt and his team build on what we started and take the publication to the next level. Their vision and investment in the brand will only strengthen its impact across the region.”
